From Greece to New Zealand

I was recently invited by Zafira of Zarkadia Quilts and Crafts to take part in this Round the World Blog Hop. Zafira has a very professional looking blog with beautiful photos and some pretty nice quilts. Zafira has recently started her own Youtube channel The Quilt Codex. Did you know that there are 17709 km between New Zealand and Greece? I have never been to Greece, although I did used to teach Ancient Greece when I taught Year 9 Social Studies and I have seen Mamma Mia on stage a couple of times (-:

I am sure by now you know the questions ...

What am I working on?
1  Binding my cousin Kelly's baby's quilt

2  Making borders for The Circle Game

3  Lucy's Meow Quilt

How does my work differ from others of its genre?
It doesn't. I am a follower. Although, I do do a bit of hand quilting (but a lot less than I used to) which isn't hugely big in the world of modern quilts.

Why do I create what I do?
I have been able to sew forever and once I finished five long years of part time study by distance, I started quilting. My cousin, Moana, had been quilting for a little while and I wanted to make quilts too but I didn't dare start until I had finished my MEd.

It's a nice quiet hobby generally. And one that produces things that look nice and that are of use.

How does my creative process work?
See a pretty and/or cool quilt on the www and think, I can make that. I am a pattern follower 99% of the time.

I am going to copy Megan and say consider yourself tagged if you want to join in.
