It feels like I have a million unfinished projects sitting around, so I re-started my Elizabeth Hartman Neighbourhood quilt in an effort to get something closer to finished.
All of the house blocks are now finished. I just need to square them up, sew 2.5" sashing between them and join the rows together, but I am out of white ... and I have a tonne of schoolwork that needs doing.
I am not sure I will make it with all four rows - it might be a bit big for a cot quilt. (Finished it is supposed to measure 45 x 60".) Niece/nephew #2 is due at the end of the month and this is for him/her. Although, I think this one looks a bit girly. If White baby #2 is a nephew I might gift him my wonky stars quilt that only needs a week or so of quilting to get finished. I do love that one!
I like the way your houses are sitting off set with the grey carpet showing through - maybe you could sash it in a blue/grey? Glad to know I'm not the only one with piles of unfinished projects lying around!
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are gorgeous? If you made the house one with all the blocks, it could last the little one longer ; )
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts look great!
ReplyDeleteI particularly love the houses quilt
ReplyDeleteLove the houses! Super adorable!
ReplyDeletethat neighborhood quilt is so unique! I think it is awesome, hang in there! And your wonky stars are lovely, I love the colors and patterns you are using! ReplyDeleteKaryn, your houses are so cute! And those stars are sparkling! What fabric line did you use for the stars?
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole,

ReplyDeleteYour houses are fabulous. I love the little critters we can see in the windows.
ReplyDeleteFantastic houses!!!!!! I think the baby quilt ( lucky baby) will be GREAT either way :o)
ReplyDeleteBoth of them look great! I just finished a wonky stars quilt top, and I so badly want to make the neighborhood quilt - I just love those little houses!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn
DeleteIt's not a massive project. You could get the top done over a couple of weekends if you needed too.
I just love your neighbourhood quilt! Such fun fabrics and colours. Its soooo frustrating when you run out of fabric isn't it!?! Hope you can get some more white soon so that you can get going again.
ReplyDeleteThe neighbourhood quilt is incredible! Your fabric choices are amazing. I'm jealous/inspired!
ReplyDeleteThanks! They were all leftovers from other projects. I did buy the critter fabric though for the windows.
DeleteI love the critters peeking through the window. This is definitely not too girly in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteLove both the quilts. Especially love the houses. What pattern did you use? It is so cute!!
