These were not every-day biscuits growing up. They were special occasion biscuits. I am not sure why. Anyway, they are faves of my boss' husband, so I made them some for Christmas.
Recipe
1/2 tin Condensed Milk
1 packet of Super Wine biscuits - crushed
1 oz (25 g) butter - melted (shows you how old the recipe is given the butter measurement is in ounces!)
1 T cocoa
1/2 t Vanilla Essence
Mix all of the above together. Shape into balls, roll in dessicated coconut and use your thumb to make a depression for the chocolate icing.
If you want to make your birds' nests extra flash, you can add peppermint essence to the chocolate icing.
I think these are best at room temperature, rather than cold and hard out of the fridge.
I received some yummy Nieman Marcus Cookies from Jarrah. They have a lovely flavour.
They do look very special occasion ; )
ReplyDeleteBut so easy to make, Carla.
