They are now hanging in the hall (the only biggish wall without windows) waiting for me to work out how to put them together. I saw on a blog recently someone had alternated them with 9 patch squares. Maybe I will get to them in January.
It's been very uneventful on the sewing front. Not by choice but because of school. However, I did enjoy going to the Auckland Festival of Quilts last weekend and meeting up with some of the Monday Modern girls. Many of the group had quilts in the exhibition and Carolyn's bee quilt won a prize! You can check out some pics on flickr.
Last weekend I also visited the Designer Textiles Outlet in Otara. I bought some fabric for a skirt and a top. I whipped up the skirt this arvo. They have a great selection of fabrics at the moment. I think this fabric was $12m at 150cm wide. Because it has some stretch I didn't even bother with a zip.
Love your skirt fabric! I see Lucy snuck into the photo too :-)
ReplyDeleteChurn Dash is a real favourite of mine and I just love the scrappy look of these red & aqua blocks... lucky you! I thought you had been a tad quiet on the sewing front lately, not too long to go now & it'll be the end of term! Also love your skirt fabric too! Linda
ReplyDeleteI like the churn dash block collection - interesting range of tones and scale in the fabric.
ReplyDeleteCute skirt - is that the place in Lovegrove Ave, I have always meant to visit there - add it to the list.
ReplyDeleteI love the churn dash...you can jazz it up so many ways. I loved the festival...so many fab quilts there
ReplyDeleteOoooo cant wait to see how you bring the blocks together in a quilt. And Hoorah for lovely fabric and good prices! Great skirt!
ReplyDeleteLove those churn dash blocks. Fun
ReplyDeleteI still haven't been out to that place in Otara, do you think it's worth the trip from West Auckland? Great skirt! I'll have my blocks for you to add to the churn dash quilt, it's a fun block to do!
