I have been referring to this quilt as my arrowheads quilt, but I see it's actually called arrow tails. I suppose arrow tails are a little less dangerous than arrowheads!
Anyway, I saw this lovely quilt by Laurel of Sing all You Want sometime last year and thought it would make a good baby quilt for a frolleague (remember - blend of friend and colleague). I had a layer cake which I had bought for another project and used that. Laurel has all the directions on her blog for this quilt. All I did was cut each layer of my cake in half and then cut each short end off at 50 degrees. I possibly should have paid more attention to having all my arrows going in the same direction.
My finished quilt measures about 90 cm x 115 cm. I backed it with another Spotlight special that looks kind of like sketch with some hand-drawn flowers thrown in, and it is bound with actual sketch - which isn't quite as traffic-cone-orange as it looks in the photo.
Lucy the Cat has given it her seal of approval. She's pretty easy to please though.

Tree #20
And as luck would have it, I am five pieces of sashing short to complete the top! I have ordered more fabric from All Things Patchwork - hopefully, it arrives in the mail tomorrow.
In the meantime, I found all the arrowheads (in the hot water cupboard!) and have sewn them together today.
PS I chose to photograph a section where my points all line up. They are not all that tidy (-:

Missing Arrowheads
I have two gaps in my arrowheads. I can fill them with pink - I have 4 slices of pink (of layer cake) that I haven't used. Or I can fill them with something else - maybe white? I am trying to keep it gender neutral. What to do? What to do?

Future Projects - Arrowheads and Meows
I have started this 'arrowheads' quilt with a pregnant frolleague (blend of friend and colleague) in mind.
I bought the Pezzy Print layer cake months ago, if not a year ago. I planned to use it for another quilt, but thought it would work well for the arrowheads quilt.

And this one ... love. I love the cute blue cats. I bought this linen (even though it is blue and I am not buying any blue fabrics - LOL) when I was shopping on etsy for something else! I am thinking stars of some kind with my linen cats in the middle. It might be a Christmas holiday project. I am making this one with Baby Lucy in mind. Although, I think I will find it hard to part with this fabric.
