And ready for gifting. I like this one lots. Luckily I have a second one ready for quilting that I might just keep for myself!

Oh Deer! More Wedges
This fabric has been sitting on the shelf since 2012. Not sure what I was saving it for, but thought I had better use it before I decided I didn't like it any more.
Pulled out my massive 10 degree wedge ruler that I bought for myself last Christmas and made two half modern wedges aka dresden plates.
I have set them onto Spotlight shot cotton in 'pepper'. I bought the last of what was on the bolt at Mt Wellington - none at Manukau. I am really liking brown at the moment.
Now to find backing fabric.

Dirt and Fence Posts
I've started work on the background for the garden party quilt I started back in September at the workshop with Kathy Doughty.
Last Sunday a few of us Monday Modern girls met up at the Auckland Festival of Quilts. Not only did we check out the quilts, we did a little bit of shopping. I bought some blacks and browns for the dirt and fence posts.
I am really making this up as I go. I cut some 6" wide strips/rectangles and some 3.5" ones. It's probably close to 2m wide because I want it to be big and useful. The only space I have for a temporary design wall is in the hall as you enter from the front door, right under my photos from Bodie State Historic Park in California. Possibly a weird place to have a work in progress hanging, but oh well.
My next step is to cut some greens to go in between the browns. Then blues for the sky. I look forward to working on this properly once school finishes for the year in four weeks.

Once I got my dirt section sewn together, I started on my fence posts. I managed to use a couple of browns from my stash, some Spotlight shot cottons ('pepper' is my favourite), and my shopping from the F o Q last weekend.

More Wedges
One little one and two big ones. Maybe three more are needed before I start work on the background.
I am not loving the blue and green one above. The wedges are too 'fat'. I think I will experiment with a small flower on top of this big one.

My Hawaiian Modern Wedge
I am going to call this one my Hawaiian Modern Wedge because the green fabric came from Hawaii in 2013.
Vera Bradley has a shop in the Ala Moana Centre and we visited it several times to look at the nice bags. I don't think any of us bought a bag but I did buy this serviette, or napkin if you are American or posh, which I always knew would get cut up and used in a quilt.
The bee fabric has photographed a bit red. In real life, it's a nice dark magenta. And it's not spots or blue. Win.
I think I will make three - four more 'flowers' and then start to plan the background. I like the idea of a big quilt to go with these big, bright flowers.

Blue and Green Modern Wedges
Oh yeah, the addiction continues.
While these flowers are very blue and green (aka same old, same old), I am planning vibrant centres of pink, red and aqua!

More Modern Wedges
I made sure I got the groceries bought and the school work done this morning, so this afternoon was free for making more modern wedges. I think I might be addicted!
And look - no spots!
