Kat's Quilt

Finito!

Kat had a baby girl on Wednesday, so I am glad I used the red binding. And the yellow seems to stand out the most in the photos even though with the naked eye, I think the quilt looks more green and blue.

The blue paisley is an Anna Griffin fabric I have had for years, the green paisley comes from Grandmother's Garden and the other colours come from Cushla's in Devonport and The Crafty Needle in Manukau. The green spot backing came from Spotlight - it almost has a suedey feel to it. I used a 50% wool/50% cotton batting from The Crafty Needle. It was ok to hand quilt - not as smooth as 100% wool which I find super smooth to get the needle though. It's good to try these things though.

Turns out I don't have laryngitis. The doctor says I have pharyngitis. (I had my tonsils out when I was four so that ruled out tonsilitis pretty quickly for him!) I am not one to go running to the doctor, but this is the sorest sore throat of my life. It really, really, really hurts to swallow and I have no voice at all - just a whisper. He said the pain should go in a couple of days and the voice will get better over the next ten days.Should make for a fun week at school with nothing but a whisper.

  1. Take time off and do more quilting!
I didn't realise this was going to be for Kat, I'm a bit slow :)
I hope you feel better soon.
