Cicada Season

From dawn till dusk. Deafening. The season usually goes for a week or so at the end of January. They are about one month late this year. Must be all the rain we've had and the sunshine we haven't had. The cicadas seem to favour the Cabbage Trees for shedding their skins.

  1. I'm glad I wasn't just imagining things with the cicadas - my husband told me that we always think the cicadas are late, but I was pretty sure they really were this year! We have a lot on our manuka tree, I should check the cabbage tree too because I promised some boys in Hazel's class I'd get them some and she's cleared them all off the manuka and put them in her jewellery box!

    1. What else would you keep in your jewellery box?! Funny.
