Quilting Finished

Yay ... I didn't let myself go to bed until I had finished all the quilting on Aunty Judy's Wonky Log Cabin. Consequently, I have one sore underneath the quilt needle poked finger.

Lucy the Cat was a great help - trying to sleep under the quilt as it was being quilted.

I attached the binding today and it's ready to be handsewn down.

First, I had to straighten up the quilt. I cut each side back to about 1/2 inch. I am using 4 inch binding folded in half.

Pin, pin, pin.

Sew, sew, sew 1/4 inch from the edge using a small stich. Stopping about 1/4 inch from the corner and back stitching a couple of stitches.

Mitre the corner with a swift 45 degree fold this way and then that way.

More pinning and more sewing.

I am beginning to master the tidiest ever binding finish. But I still have to look it up every time on youtube to remind myself.

    1. I find it a little bit fiddly, but should probably leave more of the binding not sewn down before trying to join the ends together.
