September Bee Blocks

This month's Modern Monday blocks are for Jacqui. Jacqui supplied us with linen and pieces of her vintage sheet collection to make wonky stars.

I had not made wonky stars of different sizes before. For the tiny stars, each square measures 1.5" x 1.5". Those pieces were interesting to sew! I quite like the look of different sized stars in one block. My best star is the little pink one.

Sewing day was grey and very windy. I don't love windy days living under the trees. But I tell myself that the trees have been there for 100 years, so they are are unlikely to go anywhere in a hurry.

  1. Oh my gosh, I love all those little ones! I definitely have to try a block like that too. It's funny how you get fond of a particular bit in a block - I liked the little yellow star in mine best, although I'm not sure if that's because it's little or because it's yellow. I must get on to more of my own so it's a good collection next meeting (wherever that will be!).

  2. Such a pretty block - I love your little pink one too. And I love the way you pin things on those giant trees - perfect backdrop!

  3. These look great! Interesting to see the same stars as the raffle quilt done in different fabrics - how fun!
