My Lucky Ninja Star

I was quite disappointed when I looked at this month's lucky star. I thought it was the ugliest so far. However, I chose my fabrics - I have decided to have some watermelon pink in every star - and started sewing.

Here it is half made. And as always I have one piece that's just a bit short ... see the top of the pink in the bottom right quarter. Oops.

Here is my completed ninja star.

It turned out a lot nicer than I thought. I think the trouble is that for the example one I think the fabrics are gross. Too many patterns and two different background fabrics. Yeah, they might add "movement" - but they aren't my cup of tea.

Here are my completed stars so far. Nine more and I will almost have a quilt!

  1. Your stars are looking great - and I agree that your version of this month's star looks much cleaner than the sample version shown with the pattern. I am finding an advantage to being way behind with my blocks - I get to see how colour placement etc of everyone else's blocks changes the look of them...
