December's Lucky Star

Done!

This was a good star to finish with ... not too many pieces.

I was planning to finish this quilt top old school style with my stars on point, etc. But after talking with the Monday Modern girls, I am reconsidering. I have seen some cool layout ideas on Amy Gibson's blog. She has put together ideas for her Sugar Blocks. I quite like the idea of a big star block in the centre. We will get an mail this week from Don't Call Me Betty with ideas for layout. Maybe I will get further inspiration from that. I do plan to finish this top in the Christmas hols which start in five school days. Yay!

(Today I am experimenting with the Blogsy app. I have lost this post once this afternoon. Fingers crossed this works!)

  2. Those little chevrons look great in the block. I saw those other layouts earlier in the week - there are some interesting possibilities, depending on how much negative space you want to fill.

    1. I am no expert. These patterns have been quite good maybe because most of the pieces are a decent size. It does take me a while to get into the swing of things when I start each block though.
