A Woolly Hat

One blog I look forward to reading is Carla's Grace and Favour. I like her fabric choices for her quilts and her quilt photos too that show tonnes of snow and beautiful Canadian scenery. In addition to being a quilter, Carla is a knitter. I saw her cable hat a while ago and then the instructions were published on Imagine Gnats. When I was at my parents' in the hols, Mum knitted it up for me over just two nights.

I didn't want it too pouffy at the back, so it's a bit 'shorter' than the original just coming down over my ears and fitting snuggly. It's knitted using one skein of New Zealand made (obviously!) Amuri  merino and possum blend. It's super soft. I am sure it will be useful on the five days it gets below 10 degrees C in Auckland over winter!
