Shoe Making

I am not sure how I came across Shoe School based in Wellington, but I did and I booked a one day workshop for May. During May the country was in Covid lockdown so shoe school was postponed. Finally, last Sunday I got my day at an Auckland Shoe School workshop. And talk about fun!

Between 9 and about 3.30pm I made a pair of shoes entirely by hand - no glue, just hand sewing.

I guess it was just like regular sewing - choosing the style, the leather, trace the pattern, cut the leather, sew the leather. Ta-da, done!

And it turns out they match my house!

I also fancy hat making.
