I made this one because I had lots of HSTs left over after the Teal and Orange HST quilt that I could not waste. It took some time finding the 'right' pink (which doesn't photograph at all well).
It's only the second baby quilt I have machine quilted, and while it went better than the first, it's not perfect nor easy! But it is hugely time saving. I find the dense quilting means it's a bit less snuggly than I would like. But, hopefully, that will improve after a wash or two and some use.
I like the look of this one a lot. Although I have only now noticed the variation in grey. Not intentional at all. Hopefully, that's just a lighting/photography thing.
It's off to live in Christchurch.
Fantastic. I love the way the shapes seem to enter the quilt of the left and exit out on the right.
ReplyDeleteVery clever!
Cheers

I wish I could say that was done on purpose, Linda (-:
DeleteI didn't notice the change in greys until you mentioned it, but I like it - just adds that little extra bit of colour play.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job on your quilt! Some lucky baby is going to be very snuggly under this little beauty.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely - the elephants are so cute and the quilting is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making the finals - it's really great.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was a surprise when I read your email!
DeleteFantastic!!! I LOVE the variations in gray, actually. You're getting my vote!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy. The colours have worked out well. I wonder if it was a different batch of grey that caused the variation.
ReplyDeleteI like it with the gray variation, and apparently others did, too, since it's a finalist! It's a great quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! And the grey variations are very lovely. I'd be happy if they were there to stay. Great job!
