Bunny in a Hoop

Whipped this up this arvo. An Easter present for the White Baby. Here's where the idea comes from. The more I play with raw-edge applique on my machine, the more I'd like a sewing machine where I could drop the feed dogs so I can get curves more easily.

I used white flannel, left over scraps from his quilt and some stuffing for the tail. I backed it with a piece cut from an old aertex shirt. It was a quick gift to make. I might experiment with other animals.

Jacob's Cat

'Steve the Cat' is for the newest member of the extended family. My cousin Lisa's new son, Jacob. The cat is made from an old blue wool fabric and some left over cotton from Lucas' quilt. There seems to be a run of boy babies in our family at the moment: Lucas in December, cousin Darcy's son Jayden in the New Year and now cousin Lisa's Jacob. Good for maintaining surnames.

The top is done

Now all that is needed is about 6 weeks of hand quilting. Easy peasy.
