Wintersweet Quilt

While the wool quilt sits STILL waiting to be unbasted, I have started a new one.

It is Frankie and Ray's Wintersweet quilt. It's made up of a series of churn and dash blocks and 9 patch blocks.

I have just one block left to make for the outer border. Well, to re-make. Maybe this week. I look forward to quilting it over the Christmas break.

I also wanted to do a house fix update. While I was away in the first week of October, the concrete was finally laid. This was a long time coming. For months I had been parking up the drive and putting my gumboots on to get across the mud. I think it rained all but six days for the whole of August and September this year.

Before - This was on a pretty good day and after some of the shingle had been laid for the concrete. For at least two months, it was a bog. I had planks that I walked on from the front door, past a skip bin and onto the drive. I would change out of my gumboots at the car.

The painter is still working a couple of days a week, so while the kitchen and laundry are finished I haven't moved any furniture in.

Before - and it got so much worse than this during the process.

I think this is when the flea infestation started!

After -

The painting inside should be finished by the end of this week. The tiler will then come back to grout the backsplash and silicon seal where tiles meet walls. The 'blind' lady is coming Tuesday afternoon. It'll be nice to get some furniture back in so it's less echo-y and I can sit in the room. Roll on the Christmas break!
