Wintersweet Quilt in Summer

I love Jo's style over at Frankie and Ray. I have made three of her patterns now. My Wintersweet quilt is done!

It's a great pattern for using every fabric that exists on your shelf. I have included an old serviette of my Gran's and a printed gingham that my Gran's cousin gave me. I tried to go for contrast in each block - in terms of light(ish) and dark(ish) or contrast in size of print.

I was struck when quilting it how green it turned out. It's hard not to use green!

It ended up being quilted with five different threads. As I used up one, I started another. As usual, I used wool for the batting. It's backed with a woven gingham. (I love gingham at the moment.) Four fabrics were used in the binding. The paisley in the binding is from my paisley phase around 2009.

My other Frankie and Ray quilts are the Blue and Gold Blanket Bay -

and two Aunt Bet's quilts -
